Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter,

Repair Technician
Andy P was born in rural Central Otago but was reborn in the bohemian capital of New York City, Greenwich Village.
Living 5 kilometres from his nearest neighbours, Andy began learning the guitar aged 7. Influenced by his parents’ excellent taste in music, Andy quickly adopted the blues rock influence of Jimmy Page, Gary Moore and Jimi Hendrix.
Since 2006, Andy P has led multiple bands as a vocalist and lead guitar player. He has performed over 1000 live shows across venues, bars, restaurants, festivals, corporate events and weddings. Andy has the ability to read and write charts, as well as to improvise on the fly making him a great choice to sit in on any performance or session.
In 2010, Andy graduated with a music degree with first class honours from the University of Otago majoring in performance, composition and studio production.
In 2011, Andy was made a teaching fellow at the University of Otago, where he lectured and tutored tertiary level students in music theory and song writing. In his decade of experience as a private guitar & bass tutor, he has worked with over 200 students.
From 2018-2020, Andy immersed himself in the vibrant and cutthroat music world of New York City. During this time, he gained a reputation for his playing and was asked to perform with world-class touring musicians. In 2019, Andy toured the US as a session guitarist with a Latin American Pop-Rock group and was hired as a Country music session guitarist to record and tour. Andy P played the stage at Birdland several times, joined a Gypsy Jazz collective, and was asked to join the house band at bars across the city.
During his time in NYC, Andy was trained in guitar repair, and became the leading repair technician in a nationwide music store. He is Fender certified in the repair of electric and acoustic guitars and basses, and has repaired the instruments and equipment of many famous musicians, including Captain Kirk (The Roots), Steve Jordan (John Mayer Band), Eric Gales, Chris Rock (comedian), Anton Fig (Joe Bonamassa) and many others.
Andy P is now back in Dunedin and is available for performances, studio sessions and repairs.
